As with other Wüsthof collections, the blade is made of X50CrMoV15 steel, sharpened using the PEtec method and polished by hand. This type of steel is also easy to sharpen.
Another advantage of this blade is the bolster. It doesn't extend all the way to the edge, but it does separate the handle from the blade. This way, you'll not only keep your fingers safe, but you'll be able to use the entire edge. It's also ideal when you want to sharpen the knife.

The handle is made of extremely solid POM. This is a shock-resistant, heat-resistant and acid-resistant material that you can easily clean. Perfect for kitchen knives.
